Color
Light and pigment. Copper and old gold when something leaves the body. Frost and ink blue when it rests. Malachite in what wants out. Amber when it is full.
The aim is to hold one organism and let the year change it. Not four subjects, but one body whose color, form, energy and aspiration say the same thing.
Light and pigment. Copper and old gold when something leaves the body. Frost and ink blue when it rests. Malachite in what wants out. Amber when it is full.
The gesture. Winter lies low. Spring unfurls and reaches. Summer swells without climbing. Autumn still has a crest, and the seeds are what depart.
How much the body moves. Winter is still. Spring opens. Summer pulses from within. Autumn is dense, about to let go.
Where it wants to go. In winter the will is quiet. In spring it sits in the highest crest. In summer fullness is enough. In autumn the seeds carry away what it has been.
Copper, old gold and seeds leaving the body. The form is still climbing. A coarser brush and harder edges.
Wind and flying leaves. The same climbing body, painted again.
Fine satin and soft edges, but the light belongs to summer. The seeds lie still and the crest sits in the centre.
Matte copper, rust and dusty teal. The leaves fly. The body climbs at the sides and recedes. The centre stays low, where the dialogue sits.
An open center and winter color, but two forms. The body was not yet one.
One continuous body lying low. Petrol, ink blue and frost. Energy and aspiration are both quiet.
Spring color laid on winter’s sweep. The form has not woken yet.
The body unfurls. The highest crest is the palest, and the green sits down in the folds.
The same gesture. The living green sits in the crest that wants out. The blush stays as a rim.
Summer color on winter’s silhouette. Too close to rest.
Amber glows from within, but the valley is still winter’s.
The same inner light. The center lifts, fuller than spring, without a crest reaching upward.
